GOLDENROD (Solidago) & Monarch Butterflies

The energy of the Goldenrods as they flop in the breeze is a silly sort of energy, very open and light-hearted and welcoming. They wind-surf in the breeze. They flop and bounce like goofy hats, and their warm golden yellow color is as warming and inviting as the sun. Their energy really "goes with the flow."
The relationship between the Goldenrod and the Monarch butterflies is a perfect example of how the energy of a flower can help us on our life journey.
We all know the beautiful orange and black Monarch butterfly. We study its dramatic life-cycle in school. Pretty terrific stuff, and it gets better. Turns out the Monarchs are some of the world's greatest athletes. They make a spectacular journey, migrating 1000's of miles.
Around here, the Monarchs leave and fly across the continent over to El Rosario , Mexico where hundreds of thousands gather in spectacular swarms.
The relationship of the Monarch to the Goldenrod certainly adds a new depth to the old adage "you are what you eat!" Goldenrods share and impart some their energy of going with the flow and of that quiet, unlikely strength, endurance, faith, and inner peace unperturbed by the outer world around them.
The belief reflected in this energy is: "I have the power to accomplish all I need to accomplish" rather than "I have the power over my life to control what I need to control."
The migrating Monarchs rely on their own abilities and the support of the Universe not on having any power over their circumstances or anything around them they flutter through storms and winds and hot, hot sun for thousands of miles using the delicate beats of their wings.
And, here's the best part: The Monarchs do not use BRUTE STRENGTH to achieve their great feats. They use THERMALS! They beat their little wings until they catch a thermal, and then they FLOAT on one thermal after another to their distant destination. FLOAT! They have faith that the universe will support them, and it does.
It literally LIFTS them and CARRIES them to their destination.
And, just imagine if the universe will do that for a tiny insect what it might do for YOU!!
